Cancer Monitoring Markers

A tumour marker is first and foremost used to monitor and follow the development of a cancerous disease.

The laboratory assessment may in some cases help in detecting certain cancers. It should be performed according to clinical criteria and risk factors based on the sex and age of the patient.
